The white car is not mine George. I took those pix a couple of years ago. I am fortunate to have a couple myself though. No the tunnel around the handbrake is just as per normal the gear lever hole is the only bit that is different. The apparent join you can see in the picture is the tar sheet stuck to the floor that's used in various places.
Hi guys, Rather than just guess, can someone with a twin cam etc please measure up a couple of hole diameters for me as mine have been welded up an its a bit hard to guess the original hole size. The two holes I'm refering to are in the fire wall above the plate that the pedal box and the lip in the wall. They are just above some pressed oval shapes in the wall.One looks about 20ish mm the other is around 10mm? On the few twin cams that I have seen the larger one is normally blanked off with a blank grommet and the smaller one normally has the washer bottle tube that goes down to the foot pump. Gidday George Saw your message last month but forgot about it! Big hole is 30mm dia and small 10mm. I measured a Twin Cam but this should be identical on all Mk1 Escorts. Yes the big hole should have a blank grommet in a Twin Cam as this is where the speedo cable comes out in a standard Escort but no room for a cable on a Twin Cam because of the carbs.
